Daily Calcudoku
Solve one reproducible arithmetic-cage puzzle for the date. The selected difficulty, source and symmetry stay fixed all day, so a replay is the same puzzle rather than a newly randomized board.
A true daily puzzle, not a random refresh
A daily game works best when “today’s puzzle” actually means the same puzzle for the whole day. Daily Calcudoku derives its difficulty, verified source and symmetry transform from the local date. Opening the page again on the same date reproduces the same board identity. That makes completion history and a daily streak meaningful without requiring an account or server-side puzzle assignment.
The Daily route is deliberately separate from the platform’s Today’s 6. Completing Daily Calcudoku updates only the Calcudoku specialist history and streak. It does not add a seventh game, replace a Daily slot, or alter the existing six-game score contract.
What changes from day to day?
The release bank contains 60 independently verified source puzzles: 20 Easy 4×4, 20 Standard 5×5 and 20 Hard 6×6. Each source can be rotated or reflected in eight structure-preserving ways. The date selects among these verified ingredients deterministically. Over time you therefore see different board sizes, cage structures and transforms without relying on a live puzzle API.
Every source has exactly one solution under the real Calcudoku constraints. Each row and column uses the digits 1 through the board size exactly once, and every connected cage satisfies its printed arithmetic target. Addition and multiplication cages can contain more than two cells; subtraction and division clues are two-cell, order-free constraints.
How to approach today’s board
Begin with the tightest cages. Single-cell cages are immediate placements. On a 6×6 board, a two-cell 11+ cage must be 5 and 6, while a 2÷ cage has only a few possible pairs. Then check where those values can fit within the crossing rows and columns. When a row has all but one digit represented, its missing value may resolve a cage that was previously ambiguous.
The selected-cage panel shows arithmetic possibilities compatible with your current entries. This is especially useful on multiplication cages where several fact families can share a product. Notes mode lets you keep candidate digits in the cells themselves, while Auto Notes calculates candidates from row, column and cage constraints.
Clean solves and assistance
Daily completion is the main goal. A clean solve uses no Hint and no checked mistake. You can still use Notes, Auto Notes, cage possibilities, Undo and Redo without losing clean status because those tools reveal or manage constraints rather than placing a final answer for you. Check and Hint make the run assisted, and the result says so explicitly.
Autosave stores the exact date puzzle, values, notes and elapsed time in local browser storage. If the tab closes in the middle of a solve, reopening the same Daily returns to that saved state. After completion the autosave is cleared and the date is recorded in the specialist Daily history.
What the streak means
The Calcudoku streak is intentionally narrow: it counts consecutive local dates on which this specialist Daily was completed. It is not a global rank or a claim about mathematical level. If you miss a date, the current streak restarts on the next completion while the best streak remains saved locally.
The game score also stays within the puzzle context. Time contributes modestly after a generous size-aware baseline, while Hint use and checked mistakes reduce the result. Clean personal-best time is stored by difficulty. None of these numbers are IQ scores, classroom grades or population percentiles.
Want another puzzle immediately?
Daily is the habit loop, not a play limit. After finishing today’s board, open unlimited Calcudoku and choose Easy 4×4, Standard 5×5 or Hard 6×6. Fresh Practice uses the same verified source bank and exact local autosave system without changing today’s Daily history.
