One frozen visual-memory block for the date
Daily Change Detection uses a deterministic date key. Everyone using the same V0.143 package and date receives the same specialist block. It is separate from Today’s 6 and has its own browser-local history and streak.
What “Daily” means here
The Daily block is not chosen from your recent performance and is not silently regenerated after a reload. The date deterministically selects the level, source and concrete memory/probe arrays. This makes a later replay of the same date reproducible.
2026 difficulty schedule
The frozen 2026 specialist calendar contains 365 deterministic dates: 60 Easy, 180 Standard and 125 Challenge. The schedule belongs only to this specialist. It does not replace, reorder or expand the platform’s frozen Today’s 6 sequence.
Same concrete arrays on the same date
The Daily identity includes the memory array, probe array, set size and Same/Change truth. The independent verifier re-materializes all 365 dates and requires all 365 to be deterministic, valid and concrete-distinct.
That reproducibility is useful for review. If you replay a date, the result difference comes from your interaction with the same block rather than a newly randomized puzzle being substituted under the same date label.
How the Daily level changes
Easy uses 3, 4 and 5 colored circles. Standard uses 4, 5 and 6 colored shapes. Challenge uses 5, 6 and 8 color–shape objects, a shorter study interval and a longer retention delay. Every level remains 50% Same and 50% Change.
Local Daily history
When a Daily block finishes, the result is written to the Change Detection specialist’s local Daily history. It does not create an account or upload the session to a remote profile. Reloading the same browser restores the saved specialist entry.
Specialist streak
The streak increments when consecutive date keys are completed. It is deliberately separate from other game streaks. Missing a specialist day does not rewrite the underlying frozen block and does not alter Today’s 6.
Clean and Assisted Daily
Study Boost extends the study display and therefore changes the task. If used, the run is marked Assisted. That Daily result can still be stored in specialist history, but it does not become evidence of a Clean best.
Why Daily is not adaptive
A frozen Daily is most useful when the date itself is authoritative. If difficulty changed according to a local adaptive state, two browsers could receive different material for the same date. Practice can be repeated with arbitrary deterministic seeds; Daily keeps the date mapping fixed.
How to review a Daily miss
Look first at Same versus Change accuracy. A Change miss means one altered feature was not detected. A Same miss means an unchanged probe triggered a false alarm. Then compare smaller and larger set sizes. A recurring large-set problem may suggest that the initial encoding strategy is not scaling cleanly.
For Change misses, try binding each item to its board position during the memory phase. For Same false alarms, use a systematic probe scan rather than repeatedly checking one uncertain object. The next Practice session can reuse a seed while you test a revised method.
Daily timing is descriptive
Median correct probe response time and set-size timing are local observations. A faster day is not automatically a better day if accuracy drops, and the page does not convert timing into an IQ score, population percentile or clinical capacity estimate.
Privacy and portability
Daily history lives in browser storage. Clearing browser storage can remove it. The product does not require sign-in, a paid API or a remote score service for this specialist.
Use the date as the identity, not as a difficulty promise
The calendar does not guarantee that tomorrow feels harder or easier than today. Its purpose is reproducibility, not a smooth curriculum. The same date maps to the same verified concrete block, while the annual distribution keeps Easy, Standard and Challenge represented across the year. For skill-building progression, use Practice where you can choose a level directly.
Compare Daily results carefully
Two Daily dates can differ in level and set-size mix, so raw response time should not be treated as a direct race between days. First compare accuracy, condition balance and the level shown for each block. Then use the Daily history to notice repeated tendencies, such as Change misses appearing more often on larger arrays or Same false alarms rising after long hesitation.
A single unusually fast or slow Daily can happen for ordinary reasons: a distraction, a different input device, fatigue, or simply a block that aligns better with your strategy. The local history is more useful when it helps you choose what to practice next than when it is treated as a leaderboard.
Move from Daily back into Practice
If a Daily block exposes a clear weakness, continue in Practice rather than repeatedly replaying the date until it becomes memorized. Match the Daily level, choose a Fresh deterministic seed, and work on the relevant step. For missed changes, strengthen location-feature binding during study. For false alarms, slow the probe comparison and use a fixed scan path.
After one or two Practice blocks, replaying the Daily date can be useful as a controlled check because the material is unchanged. Treat that replay as review, not as a new independent sample. The stored history should help you remember what happened, while the practice engine supplies fresh material for continued learning.
What remains fixed across reloads
The authoritative date key, selected source, concrete memory array, concrete probe array and Same/Change truth are deterministic. Reloading does not silently substitute a different answer. Local completion history and streak information are stored separately from that truth, so deleting local browser storage can remove your record without changing what the date itself generates.
Keep Daily and Today’s 6 conceptually separate
This specialist Daily is an optional focused exercise. It does not add a seventh slot to Today’s 6, alter the frozen lineup, or affect completion of the main Daily set. That separation matters because it lets the specialist keep its own reproducible calendar and streak without changing the platform’s primary daily routine.
If you only have time for one session, choose based on your goal. Use Today’s 6 for broad variety and the specialist Daily when you specifically want a fixed visual-memory block that can be reviewed later under the same date identity.
What this Daily does not claim
Daily Change Detection is not a diagnostic test, a medical assessment, an IQ test or a normative memory-capacity instrument. It is a deterministic browser practice block with transparent local measurements.
