Daily Futoshiki

Solve one date-stable inequality puzzle from the same independently verified bank, with a specialist streak separate from Today’s 6.

Daily Futoshiki gives one stable board for the calendar date

The Daily mode is not a random board that changes on refresh. The application derives the size, difficulty, frozen source and geometric symmetry from the local calendar date. Reopening that date therefore identifies the same verified puzzle. This makes a Daily completion meaningful inside one browser and makes QA reproducible without pretending that an online server is coordinating a worldwide competition.

The same Latin-square rules apply in Daily and Practice

Every row and column must contain each number from 1 through N exactly once. Horizontal and vertical inequality clues must also remain true. Daily does not introduce a special scoring shortcut or a different answer rule. A board that would be invalid in Practice is invalid in Daily, and the same independently verified source bank supplies both modes.

The date can select different sizes without changing the learning goal

The specialist bank contains verified 4×4, 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7 boards across Easy, Medium and Hard pools. The Daily selector can vary those dimensions over time while preserving the same core skill: combine Latin-square exclusions with greater-than and less-than relations. Smaller boards emphasize quick candidate elimination; larger boards make inequality range reasoning and longer chains more important.

Inequality chains are useful before exact digits are known

If A is less than B and B is less than C, the positions already have order even when none has an exact value. On a 5×5 board, three cells in a rising chain cannot all sit at the top of the range because room must remain for later values. These minimum-and-maximum constraints often remove candidates from the crossing row or column and create the next forced move.

Row and column uniqueness provides the other half of the deduction

A comparison may say that one cell is smaller than its neighbor, but the row and column determine which numbers are still available. If a row is missing only 2 and 5, a less-than relation between those two unresolved cells immediately fixes both. If the crossing column has already used 2, the same result can be reached even without a direct pair. Daily boards are designed for this overlap of constraints rather than isolated sign reading.

The frozen bank is verified independently of the browser UI

Forty-eight source puzzles are generated deterministically and frozen into the project. An exact solver counts each source to one solution. A separate release verifier then repeats uniqueness checks, validates the stored solution, and tests every rotation and reflection. The Daily selector chooses from those already verified possibilities; it does not label an untested just-generated grid as guaranteed unique at runtime.

Three hundred eighty-four transformed boards preserve replay variety

Each frozen source has eight valid geometric variants. Rotating or reflecting a Futoshiki board requires transforming both cell positions and inequality directions, so the release verifier checks all three hundred eighty-four transformed boards and compares their unique answers with the transformed frozen solution. This gives the Daily schedule a larger verified space while keeping every puzzle explainable and reproducible.

Daily completion history belongs only to the Futoshiki specialist

Finishing the date records that date in Futoshiki history and advances its specialist streak when appropriate. It does not alter Today’s 6 history or insert a seventh game into the six-game Daily Score. That separation is intentional: specialist Daily modes can offer repeatable habits without changing the platform’s frozen 2026 Today’s 6 sequence.

Hint, Check, Undo and Redo are learning tools, not invisible advantages

Hint fills a verified cell. Check evaluates row duplicates, column duplicates and inequality violations. Undo and Redo restore exact player states. Because these tools can expose information or reverse a decision, using them marks the run Assisted. The completion is still real, but clean records remain separate so a help-assisted finish cannot silently overwrite the result of an unaided solve.

Autosave restores even an unfinished or conflicted player state

A player can close the page while experimenting with a value that currently violates a row, column or inequality. Autosave records that exact player grid for the Daily date. Restore validates that givens remain untouched and the state has the right shape, but it does not erase the player’s temporary conflict merely because it is not yet a valid solution. That behavior makes resume truthful rather than selectively remembering only tidy states.

There is no fabricated global leaderboard behind the Daily label

The product stores local dates, streaks and factual solve counts. It does not claim a worldwide rank, percentile, IQ score or number of online opponents. There is no account requirement or paid randomness. Daily is simply a deterministic date-stable selection from a verified local bank, which keeps the experience fast and private while still making the puzzle of the day repeatable.

A good Daily routine begins with the most constrained line

Scan for a row or column with several givens or inequalities. List the missing numbers, then use each neighboring comparison to shrink those candidates. A chain can impose a minimum or maximum even when no exact value is forced yet. After placing a number, rescan both its row and column because the new Latin-square exclusion can turn a previously loose inequality into a single legal choice.

Practice remains available when one Daily board is not enough

After completing the date, Practice can generate another deterministic seed at any supported size and difficulty. Fresh Practice changes the seed while preserving reproducibility in the URL. This keeps the Daily mode from needing artificial replay rewards or endless server content: the once-per-date board is the habit anchor, while the frozen verified Practice bank supplies as much additional solving as the player wants.
