DAILY HASHI · DATE-STABLE · VERIFIEDDaily Hashi
One deterministic bridge-network puzzle for the selected date. The date chooses the board size, difficulty, frozen source and symmetry, so the same V0.102 build reconstructs the same Daily Hashi without a server-side puzzle database.
A specialist daily, not another Today’s 6 slot
Daily Hashi has its own local history and streak. It does not replace, reorder or modify any of the twelve frozen source games that feed Today’s 6. This separation keeps the main daily contract stable while giving bridge-puzzle players a repeatable one-board-per-date habit.
You can move through recent dates with the day controls. Reopening a completed date restores the solved board from browser-local autosave.
How the date becomes a puzzle
The date string is hashed into a deterministic selection. That selection picks 7×7, 8×8 or 9×9, an Easy, Medium or Hard pool, one of the 45 frozen sources and one of eight symmetry variants. No network request is needed to fetch the board.
Because the mapping is deterministic, Daily play is reproducible for browser QA and migration tests. The same date in the same release cannot silently change to a different board.
Daily Hashi rules
Connect only nearest visible islands in the same row or column. A connection can contain one or two bridges. The total bridge count touching an island must equal its number, bridge paths cannot cross, and every island must finish in a single connected network. The independent verifier checks all of these constraints together.
The island badge shows the bridge count already placed, making daily sessions easier to resume after a break because the numerical state is visible immediately.
Clean daily records
A Clean completion uses no Hint, Check, Undo, Redo or Restart assistance. Those tools remain available because the goal is useful practice, but their use marks the run Assisted so local records are not mixed together.
Your specialist history stores date, size, difficulty, moves and Clean or Assisted status locally. It does not create a fabricated world ranking, percentile or public leaderboard.
Autosave and exact restore
Every bridge state is autosaved under the selected date. Returning to that date restores source, symmetry, bridge multiplicities, move count and run status. The migration gate verifies that older specialist records survive when the storage schema advances.
This is useful for larger 9×9 boards where connectivity deductions can take longer than a single short session.
Daily solving strategy
Begin with islands whose clue is close to their remaining capacity. If an island needs all available bridge ends, those directions are forced. Then scan for crossing exclusions and network bottlenecks that could isolate a region. A board can satisfy several local numbers while drifting toward a disconnected component, so connectivity should be checked throughout the solve.
When a cluster has only one possible route to the rest of the board, preserve that route until another connection is proven. Likewise, avoid completing a small closed subnetwork before it has a bridge path outward.
Why the puzzle is verified
The V0.102 bank contains 45 source boards. An independent exact solver recounts each source and all eight symmetry variants, for 360 verified playable forms. It enforces island degree, bridge multiplicity, crossing exclusions and final connectivity rather than trusting the generator’s intended answer.
The same verifier stress-tests deterministic Practice selection across 1,200 seeds and the Daily specification across all 365 dates of 2026.
Practice when one board is not enough
Daily mode intentionally gives one stable puzzle per date. Practice removes that limit: choose a board size and difficulty, generate a deterministic URL seed and keep solving. Practice records are separate from Daily history, and neither mode affects Today’s 6.

A short daily scan routine
For a fresh Daily Hashi, first scan the largest clues and islands with the fewest visible neighbors. Next mark any bridge directions that would create unavoidable crossings. Then look at the board as regions rather than individual islands: if one region has only a narrow connection to the rest, preserve that connection while solving local arithmetic.
This sequence keeps the daily solve focused. Each pass uses a different constraint family—capacity, geometry and connectivity—to reduce the remaining possibilities.
Why same-date restore matters
A deterministic daily is most useful when the browser restores unfinished work exactly. V0.102 stores every candidate bridge as 0, 1 or 2 along with moves, assistance status and selected source variant. Browser QA reopens the same date and checks exact state restoration after a near-terminal completion.
That restore contract is local to the specialist. It does not write into the main Today’s 6 day record, so a Hashi solve cannot accidentally mark a core daily game complete.
Reading island capacity on a daily board
Each island has at most four visible directions, and each direction can carry no more than two bridges. Compare the clue with remaining capacity. If an island needs every available bridge end, all those directions are forced. If it needs one fewer than the maximum, you can often prove that each direction must contain at least one bridge. Repeating this arithmetic after every placement is faster than treating each connection as an isolated guess.
Daily Hashi is especially good for this habit because the board is stable for the date. Stop, return later, and resume the same network without losing deductions already encoded.
What stays local
The game engine, frozen source bank, daily selection, autosave and records all run in the browser. There is no account requirement and no paid API dependency. The public build remains available for indexing until production is explicitly approved.
One board per date, unlimited boards in Practice
The Daily mode intentionally avoids an endless feed. It gives the selected date one reproducible board and records one specialist completion. If you want another puzzle immediately, Practice uses the same verified bank with deterministic URL seeds, three board sizes and three difficulty pools. The two modes share the exact engine while keeping their histories conceptually separate.
This design makes Daily Hashi useful as a habit without turning the site into a server-dependent challenge service. Every selection decision, verification asset and saved bridge state remains local to the release. The date is enough to reconstruct the board, while Practice remains available whenever one daily network is not enough.
