Daily Hearts

Return to one deterministic Hearts hand for the selected calendar date. The deal and starting pass direction stay fixed, while your decisions can send the same hand down very different paths. No wagering or casino mechanics are included.

The date fixes the opening deal

Daily Hearts derives its seed from the calendar date. Reopening the same date recreates the same 52-card shuffle, the same four starting hands and the same pass direction. That gives the Daily a stable identity without requiring a remote puzzle feed or an account. Different choices can still change later tricks because Hearts is an interactive strategy game rather than a fixed answer puzzle.

Passing is part of the Daily challenge

When the selected hand uses left, right or across passing, you choose three cards before the trick play begins. The three computer players make their own pass decisions from their private hands. On a hold hand, everyone keeps the original thirteen cards. Because the pass phase affects suit lengths and voids, it is a meaningful first decision rather than a setup animation.

The same full rules apply

The 2 of Clubs opens trick one, players must follow suit whenever possible, first-trick point dumping is restricted, Hearts cannot be led before they are broken unless only Hearts remain, and the Queen of Spades is worth thirteen. Capturing every point card triggers the normal shoot-the-moon scoring. Daily does not use a simplified ruleset just to make a short challenge.

Computer players stay within a public-information boundary

Each computer player receives its own current hand and public table state. It can reason from cards already played, the active trick, whether Hearts are broken and the visible scores. It is not passed the hidden cards held by the other seats. That design makes harder play possible without granting the computer an unfair information advantage.

Completion and skill result are stored separately

Finishing the thirteen tricks records the day as completed in the Hearts specialist history. The record also stores your hand score, finishing rank, whether the run remained Clean and whether you shot the moon. The Daily streak measures returning and completing the specialist hand; it is not presented as a worldwide rank or proof that every date has identical difficulty.

Clean and Assisted remain visible

Hints, Undo and Restart are useful ways to learn from the same deal, but they reveal or revisit decision information. Using any of them marks the hand Assisted. The Daily can still be completed and reviewed, while the Clean flag shows whether the result was achieved without those study tools.

Autosave keeps the date and state together

The browser-local autosave includes the exact Daily seed, round index, current hands, captured cards, current trick, public played-card history and score state. Reloading does not create a new deal. The local state belongs only to Hearts, so it does not overwrite Today’s 6 progress or another specialist’s save.

Why a deterministic card Daily is still replayable

A deterministic starting hand does not imply one deterministic game. A different pass changes what you receive. A different trick choice changes who leads next, what each computer player sees and which cards remain safe. That branching structure gives the same Daily enough room for review: you can remember a moment that went badly and test a different decision on a later replay.

Daily Hearts is intentionally outside Today’s 6

Daily Hearts is a specialist habit, not a replacement for the platform’s original six-game daily set. Completing it writes only to Hearts specialist history. The frozen Today’s 6 lineup remains six games, the historical 2026 sequence remains unchanged and no Hearts result is inserted into the core Daily score object.

No artificial global comparison

The application does not invent percentiles, player counts or global score distributions. A low score on one Hearts deal can reflect good play, favorable structure or both. The useful comparison is local and transparent: your score on the fixed date, whether you finished lowest at the table, whether the run was Clean and how your own play changes when you revisit the hand.

Use Practice when you want volume

The specialist Daily is one stable hand. Practice Hand generates another deterministic seed for unlimited play, while Play to 100 keeps cumulative totals across multiple hands and rotates the pass cycle. Those modes are better for building card-reading habits quickly; Daily is better for a short recurring checkpoint.
