Daily Mental Rotation
One date-stable spatial puzzle per day. The target, viewpoints and answer position are rebuilt deterministically from the date, so refreshing the page does not secretly swap in an easier object.
Play Daily Mental Rotation
The Daily schedule mixes Easy, Standard and Challenge while preserving the same exact geometry contract as Practice. A correct solve records the date in local specialist history; wrong attempts can be retried without changing the object.
Daily means date-stable, not random-on-refresh
The date is part of the deterministic seed. Opening the same Daily Mental Rotation date again reconstructs the same source sculpture, target orientation, answer views and correct option. That stability matters for a streak product: a player should be able to close the tab, return later and reason about the same challenge rather than receive a different roll. Practice has its own seed-stable URLs, while Daily uses the calendar date as the replay key.
The 2026 Daily sequence is verified separately
The independent verifier materializes all 365 dates in 2026 and confirms that every one is deterministic, has exactly one proper-rotation match and remains solvable under the presentation rules. It also measures configuration identity rather than counting the date string itself. The final 2026 schedule contains 365 distinct puzzle configurations. That claim is intentionally limited to the measured 2026 calendar and should not be generalized to another year without rerunning the same verification.
How the difficulty mix is constructed
A permutation of the 365 day indexes assigns 60 dates to Easy, 180 to Standard and 125 to Challenge. Because the permutation walks the year instead of putting all Easy dates first, the levels are distributed across the calendar. Easy uses six cubes and a one- or two-turn target relationship. Standard uses seven cubes and two or three turns. Challenge uses eight cubes and requires the correct view to be three quarter-turn steps away in the cube rotation group.
Daily Mental Rotation is not Today’s 6
DailyBrainArc already has a frozen Today’s 6 sequence for 2026. The Mental Rotation specialist does not insert itself into that sequence, replace one of the six slots or change historical dates. It has a separate Daily route, separate local history and separate streak. This containment lets a new specialist offer a repeat-use calendar loop without invalidating the platform’s established Daily contract.
What counts as a Daily completion
A wrong answer records an ordinary attempt but does not complete the Daily date. You can retry the same date-stable sculpture. A correct answer stores the Daily result and can advance the specialist streak when the solved date is today and follows the last solved day. Opening the optional 3-view assist marks that attempt Assisted, which is preserved in the result. The date can still be completed with assistance, but Clean best-time records remain separate from assisted study.
Why the correct answer cannot be a mirror
Every source used by Daily comes from the same committed 90-source bank as Practice. The source generator rejects any sculpture whose mirror is equivalent under the 24 proper cube rotations. That means handedness is a real property of every accepted source. The mirror distractor therefore cannot become the target through legal turning. The verifier independently recomputes canonical forms instead of trusting a stored “mirror” label.
Why one correct option is not enough unless the drawing is clear
Geometry can be exact while a particular camera projection is visually poor. The Daily materializer screens rotated views for projection collisions and requires the four answer-card projection keys to be distinct. If one deterministic source-view combination cannot satisfy the presentation contract, the materializer advances deterministically until it finds an unambiguous combination. The date still recreates the same final question every time.
Use wrong-answer type as feedback
If you choose the reflected object, the game reports a mirror error. If you choose one of the connected near-miss objects, it reports a changed-shape error. Those two mistakes suggest different corrections. Mirror errors call for tracking handedness around a distinctive elbow or branch. Changed-shape errors call for checking exact connectivity instead of matching only overall outline. Local history preserves these categories so repeated play can reveal which mistake is more common.
Response time is secondary to a correct mental model
The Daily page reports response time after Start Round, but there is no benefit to building a streak from guesses. Begin by identifying one anchor feature and mentally turn the entire object around it. Check a second feature before choosing. Once accuracy is stable, response time becomes a useful personal comparison. The product does not convert milliseconds into an IQ percentile or compare a player to an invented population distribution.
Why the bank is frozen while the views can vary
The 90 committed sources provide provenance and repeatable verification. A source defines the exact connected voxel sculpture and two connected structural distractors. Runtime materialization can choose among the 24 rotations and shuffle the answer position from a deterministic seed, producing many display configurations without relying on an unbounded opaque random generator. This split lets the project verify source quality once and still provide broad replay variety.
Local-first streak and privacy
Daily history and streak data stay in the browser store with the rest of DailyBrainArc’s local progress. The Mental Rotation runtime does not require an account, remote puzzle API or server-side answer lookup. That also means clearing browser storage removes local specialist history unless the wider platform later adds an explicit export or sync workflow. The current preview keeps the behavior simple and inspectable.
A short Daily routine
Look at the target before starting the timer and pick one anchor branch. Press Start Round, compare that branch against all four options, then verify the opposite side of the sculpture before answering. If the shape is difficult, use the 3-view assist and treat the run as study rather than chasing a Clean best. After solving, one Practice seed at the same level is enough to reinforce the day’s spatial pattern without turning a short routine into a long session.

Jigsaw Puzzle emphasizes visual assembly, Sliding Puzzle emphasizes planning moves through a constrained board and Schulte Table emphasizes scanning rather than object transformation. Switching between those products changes the cognitive operation instead of merely changing graphics around the same task.
