DAILY NUMBER PATH · DATE-STABLE SPECIALIST

Daily Number Path

One deterministic Number Path board is selected for each date from the same independently verified local bank used by Practice. Solve 1 through the final cell, keep a separate specialist streak, and return after a refresh without losing the active sequence.

SelectionDate-stable

What changes each day

The date chooses a difficulty band, one of 20 frozen sources in that band, and one of eight square symmetries. The mapping is deterministic: the same date produces the same source and transform on another reload instead of generating a new board because the page was refreshed.

Across the 2026 verification window, the schedule produces 58 Easy dates, 240 Standard dates and 67 Challenge dates. There are 226 distinct source-transform starts in those 365 dates. That number is reported as it actually is; the product does not make a false claim that every calendar day must be globally unique.

Daily Number Path is separate from Today’s 6. Completing it updates its own browser-local history and specialist streak but does not insert Number Path into the frozen six-game daily rotation.

Why a daily number path works well

The rule is compact enough to resume quickly: consecutive values touch orthogonally and every cell receives one number. The interesting part is not remembering the rule but reading the geometry of the current gaps. A short daily board can still contain a tight corridor, a parity trap, a choice that is constrained from the high-number side, and a region that only resolves after two distant anchors are combined.

The three size bands provide variation without creating separate thin pages for every dimension. Easy uses 6×6 sources with 18 clues. Standard uses 8×8 sources with 24 clues. Challenge uses 10×10 sources with sparse 28-clue targets, except one source that keeps 31 clues because removing more would lose the independent uniqueness guarantee.

Autosave is part of Daily mode

A daily puzzle should not punish you for closing a tab. The specialist stores the current cell values, Undo/Redo history, active anchor, +1 or -1 direction, elapsed time and Assisted state locally in the browser. Reloading the same date restores that state.

When the board is completed, the autosave is cleared and the date is added to the Number Path specialist history. The local streak advances when the previous calendar day was also solved. This history remains specific to Number Path and does not rewrite the platform’s Today’s 6 completion data.

Clean and Assisted solves

You can solve entirely from the clues and deduction monitor, or use Check and Verified Hint when you need help. Check compares decided player numbers with sequence conflicts and the independently verified reference. Verified Hint prefers a one-candidate local deduction before revealing a reference location.

Using either support feature marks that run Assisted. Clean solves remain separate in local records, so replaying a difficult date without help can still be meaningful after an assisted first completion.

Use gap pressure before guessing

The fastest way to make progress is usually to inspect neighboring anchors rather than staring at isolated cells. If two anchors are five Manhattan steps apart but only four sequence steps separate their numbers, the position is impossible. If they are exactly five steps apart with five steps available, the route is tight and cannot take a detour.

The candidate monitor applies the same distance and parity budgets to individual missing numbers. When a value has one locally legal cell, it is highlighted as forced. When several cells remain, the display reports that uncertainty instead of pretending a full global deduction has already been made.

Verified source quality

The Daily mode does not rely on random runtime generation. Its 60 frozen source boards were generated locally, then checked by a separate exact solver. Each source has exactly one legal full sequence. All eight square transforms remain structurally valid and unique, producing 480 verified source-transform starts for Practice and Daily selection.

The independent verifier also samples 6,000 seeded Practice selections for deterministic reproduction, board validity and stored-solution replay. Daily verification covers all 365 dates in 2026. The runtime game itself has no paid API or remote solver dependency.

Daily or unlimited Practice?

Choose Daily if you want one shared date-stable specialist challenge and a simple streak. Choose Practice if you want to pick Easy, Standard or Challenge and generate a new seeded replay URL whenever you finish. Both modes use the same verified source bank, the same live gap/candidate analysis and the same local autosave architecture.
