Daily Snake Game
Play one date-stable Daily Snake challenge with a verified connected maze, deterministic food sequence, local history and a specialist streak outside Today’s 6.
How Daily Snake works
Daily Snake is a specialist Daily separate from Today’s 6. The date determines the maze difficulty, selects a verified obstacle board, and fixes the deterministic food sequence. Reopening the same date on the same build therefore reproduces the same starting challenge. Completing or ending the run records a local Daily entry and can extend the specialist streak, but it does not rewrite the frozen Today’s 6 sequence or change the six games used for the platform’s main Daily Score.
A fair local daily seed
The board and food generation are derived from the date rather than from a server response. That means there is no paid puzzle API and no hidden daily content download. The verifier checks all 365 dates in 2026 and confirms that each date produces a valid maze session with a safe first food. Different dates may occasionally reuse one of the sixty obstacle layouts, but the deterministic food sequence adds a separate date-derived path. The site reports the actual verified domain instead of claiming that every board geometry is unique.
Easy, Standard and Challenge rotation
The date also chooses an Easy, Standard, or Challenge obstacle density. Easy boards use fewer walls and leave wider route choices. Standard is the main daily density. Challenge adds more obstacles while retaining a fully connected open-cell region. The maze verifier checks the source layouts independently before the browser uses them.
Controls that match Practice
Daily Snake uses the same controls as Practice: Arrow keys or WASD, swipe, or the touch direction pad. Two legal turns can be buffered for quick corners, while direct reversal into the neck is ignored. Pause and Restart are available so the interface does not change its basic control contract just because the date-stable mode is active.
What the Daily result means
The Daily record stores game information such as food count, score, run length, and elapsed time on this device. It is not a cognitive score, medical test, attention assessment, or percentile. The purpose is repeatable arcade practice and a lightweight daily habit. A higher score simply means a better run under these Snake rules.
Local history and streaks
Daily history lives in the V0.118 browser storage schema. Migration from V0.117 is designed to preserve Peg Solitaire, Sokoban, Sliding Puzzle, Water Sort, Ear Training, Jigsaw, Crossword, Schulte Table and earlier specialist records while adding a new Snake stats container. The previous serialized V0.117 store is not edited in place; V0.118 creates its own store after migration.
Why Daily Snake stays outside Today’s 6
The main daily lineup is intentionally stable. New specialists are added to Practice first and can have their own Daily mode without changing the frozen six-slot rotation. This containment rule prevents a catalog release from silently altering an existing user’s main Daily routine, streak history, or expected game mix.
Playing for consistency
A daily seed encourages comparison with your own previous attempt rather than endless rerolling. Use the first few foods to learn the maze’s major corridors. Keep the tail moving through broad loops instead of filling a dead-end lane from the inside. On denser boards, think about the return path before entering a narrow corridor. A clean exit route is usually worth more than a one-cell shortcut to the next food.
Why the same seed still produces different decisions
A deterministic Daily challenge does not make the run automatic. The date fixes the obstacle layout and food placements, but the path between them is still chosen by the player in real time. Two attempts can therefore diverge after the first turn, producing different body shapes and different future risks even when the next food location is identical. That is useful for repeat play: you can recognize a poor corridor choice from an earlier attempt and try a safer route without changing the underlying Daily board. Restarting the date does not silently reroll an easier maze. That keeps retries comparable and makes route changes, not content rerolls, the reason an attempt improves.
Privacy and offline-friendly design
Daily Snake does not require an account. The maze bank, movement engine, food generator and UI live in the project. Records are stored locally, and the PWA shell can include the specialist assets for normal offline-style reuse after they have been cached. Clearing browser storage can remove the Daily history, so the local streak should not be treated as an externally backed record.
