Yacht Dice is a scorecard planning game, not just a lucky roll

Each category starts with five dice and gives you up to three rolls. After the first roll you may hold any dice that support a useful pattern, reroll the others, then decide whether a second or third roll is worth the risk. Every one of the thirteen score rows can be used only once, so the real puzzle is not merely making a strong combination. It is deciding which result belongs in which limited slot.

The upper section rewards steady number building

Ones through Sixes score only dice showing that face. Three sixes score eighteen in Sixes; four fives score twenty in Fives. Reaching sixty-three points across the six upper rows adds a thirty-five point bonus. That target means an ordinary-looking roll can be strategically valuable when it protects the bonus pace.

The lower section has fixed and flexible combinations

Three of a kind and four of a kind score the total of all five dice when the requirement is met. Full house scores twenty-five. Small straight scores thirty, large straight forty, Yacht fifty, and Chance scores the total of all five dice with no pattern requirement. These values are visible in the scorecard rather than hidden behind an unexplained rating.

Holding dice is the main decision between rolls

After a roll, tap a die to hold it. Held dice remain unchanged while unheld dice reroll. You can unhold a die before the next roll if your plan changes. This creates the central tradeoff: preserve a partial pattern or release more dice to chase a different category. The same rule engine handles touch, mouse and keyboard-triggered rolls.

Scoring early can be better than chasing the maximum

You do not have to use all three rolls. If the first or second roll already produces a valuable category, you may score immediately. Saving a roll does not create a bonus, but it can keep play quick and avoid turning a good result into a worse strategic decision. The open score rows are always visible so the cost of using a category is explicit.

Suggest is advice, not a secret solver

The Suggest button evaluates the current dice and open categories using the same public scoring rules as the game. Before the third roll it can highlight dice worth holding; after the final roll it can highlight a score row. It does not claim to calculate a perfect global strategy across every possible future roll. Using Suggest marks the scorecard Assisted.

Undo is separated from clean personal bests

Undo restores the exact scorecard position from before the latest roll, hold change or category choice. That makes it useful for learning why a decision was costly. Because an undo changes what you knew when the original choice was made, the session becomes Assisted and cannot silently replace a clean personal best.

Practice uses a fixed URL seed

When Practice begins without a seed, the page fixes one in the URL. That seed drives the dice stream, so refreshes and same-seed reopens can restore the same scorecard identity. Fresh Practice makes another local seed rather than creating a separate indexed page for every random run.

Daily Yacht is date-stable and separate from Today’s 6

The Daily uses the calendar date as its deterministic identity. Everyone on this build gets the same date-derived dice sequence, while holds and scoring choices remain yours. The specialist keeps its own Daily history and streak. It does not occupy or modify one of the platform’s frozen Today’s 6 slots.

Vs Local AI keeps hidden information separate

The local opponent receives its own dice, its own held mask and its own open score rows. It does not receive your dice decisions as hidden input. After you score a category, the AI completes the corresponding round with a deterministic heuristic and its total appears beside yours. There is no server opponent and no fabricated world leaderboard.

Autosave follows the scorecard identity

Practice saves by mode and seed. Daily saves by date. Returning to the same identity restores the dice, held choices, filled categories, assistance state and completed result. Records remain in this browser because the project does not require an account or pretend that local history is synchronized elsewhere.

The scorecard stays transparent

Every open row previews the points the current dice would score there. Filled rows show the value already committed. The upper subtotal, bonus and overall total are displayed separately so it is easy to see why the final number changed. A zero is a real strategic choice when a category must be sacrificed.

Five dice create probability, but the product does not sell chance

The game includes randomness as part of a traditional dice puzzle, but the implementation has no wagering, chips, prizes, stakes, purchases or paid randomness. You cannot buy a reroll, cash out a score, or pay for a more favorable seed. The deterministic generator is local and exists for replayability and QA.

Clean records are browser-local facts

The specialist stores scorecards played, clean scorecards, best score, Yacht count, local-AI wins and a specialist Daily streak. These are factual records from this browser only. There is no IQ estimate, population percentile or claim that one score measures intelligence or skill across other people.

Mobile and desktop use the same five-dice engine

On a phone the dice compress into a single five-column row, while the scorecard becomes a compact two-column list. On desktop the play area and scorecard sit side by side. The layout changes, but scoring, hold legality, deterministic rolls and autosave identity are shared.

A strong first habit is to keep category flexibility

Early in a scorecard, several rows may accept a decent result. Later, every remaining roll is constrained by what you already filled. Avoid burning flexible categories such as Chance too quickly, watch the upper-bonus pace, and remember that a modest score in the right row can preserve more valuable options for later rounds.
