Northeast States Map Quiz
Learn Northeast U.S. states by clicking each prompted state on the real U.S. map. This focused drill uses the 9-state Northeast pool instead of mixing in all 50 states.
Start the Northeast map drill
This is the same interactive state-location engine as the full U.S. map quiz, filtered to the Northeast region. A complete regional round uses every state in the 9-state pool once.
Compact regional map practice
Northeast states are packed into a relatively small part of the national map, so a focused round lets you work on fine-grained placement without repeatedly scanning the West or South. The activity dims states outside the Northeast and prompts only from the nine-state regional pool.
What is in the Northeast pool
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania form the current Northeast pool. The game does not turn those names into a static worksheet: each prompt still requires a real click on the map. Because every regional target is unique within the round, completing the set gives full coverage of the pool.
Learn from misses without getting stuck
A useful approach is to establish larger visual anchors first, then pay attention to the smaller New England states and the relative order of nearby states. If a target is missed, the map gives another attempt and eventually reveals the answer after three misses. First-try results and misses remain visible at the end, so a second pass can focus on whether recognition is becoming more direct.
Use the region as a stepping stone
A regional quiz is not a separate toy engine. It is a filter on the same 50-state map system, so you can move from Northeast practice to the full U.S. States Map Quiz without learning a different interface. Quick 10 and Deep 25 remain available where the pool size allows them, and the “regional full” option automatically caps itself at all 9 states rather than asking for duplicates.
Add another retrieval layer
After you can locate the Northeast states from their names, switch the Geography Practice activity to Capital → state · map. The region filter stays available, so the prompt can begin with a state capital and require you to retrieve and locate the matching state. You can also practice isolated state outlines when map context starts to feel too easy.
