Start a Fresh Random Trivia Round
This entry opens a new Practice seed and a Deep 20 general-knowledge round. The selector cycles across the seven tagged topic pools rather than letting a large category dominate the set.
Fresh means a new deterministic seed
Practice creates a local seed when the page opens. That seed fixes the round long enough to complete it reliably; choosing Fresh round generates a new seed and a new selection instead of reshuffling questions mid-answer.
- Twenty unique questions per round.
- Seven topic pools are interleaved for broad coverage.
- Recent Practice questions are avoided when the available pool allows.
Balanced general knowledge
The V0.30 trivia bank uses explicit topic tags. Broad rounds rotate through Science, Math, Geography, Nature, Culture, History and General instead of guessing categories from words in the question text.
- 215 unique questions in the current bank.
- At least 30 questions in every topic.
- Focused topic mode is available from the same engine.
Review what you miss
A wrong Practice answer can enter the existing local Review system. Review uses transparent intervals rather than a made-up memory percentage, so you can see when an item is due and how the interval changes after correct or incorrect reviews.
What “random” means here
The round is pseudo-random but reproducible. When Practice opens without a seed, the browser creates one and places it in the URL. The selection is then deterministic for that seed, which matters because the player should not see a different question after a render or accidental refresh. Pressing Fresh round deliberately replaces that seed and generates another selection. This gives the experience of a new random round while keeping one active round stable enough to finish and review.
Broad rounds do not simply sample all 215 questions as one undifferentiated pile. The selector cycles through the seven explicit topic pools so Science, Math, Geography, Nature, Culture, History and General knowledge all have a chance to appear. This is especially important in a growing bank: otherwise the largest category would gradually take over general-knowledge sessions and make the experience feel narrower than the catalog actually is.
Keep going
Finish the round, read the explanations, then switch to another focused topic or return to the broader knowledge hub. Practice scores stay separate from Today’s 6, so repeat play never changes the daily total.
