How this score works

We save literal local results: boards cleared, strikes, best span and elapsed time. We do not fabricate a population percentile, IQ estimate or medical interpretation.

Display size, input device, familiarity and interruptions can affect performance, so compare your own runs under similar conditions.

Modes & rules

Classic

Start at four numbers. Tap 1 and the remaining labels vanish. Each successful board adds one number. Standard mode gives three strikes.

Flash

Eight positions hide automatically after 900 ms. Complete ten deterministic boards.

Fixed span

Repeat ten boards at one chosen load from 4 through 18. The URL keeps the seed for exact replay.

Endurance

Twenty boards begin at span six and step upward every four boards, rewarding consistency rather than one peak attempt.

Daily Chimp

Each date maps to eight deterministic boards spanning 5 through 12. Daily history is local and separate from Today’s 6.

Keyboard

Enter starts or replays, P pauses, F toggles Focus and M toggles sound.

Spatial Recall & Repeatability Lab

Run fixed, reproducible Chimp Test trials and inspect exactly where recall breaks down by span, preview speed and board layout. Evidence stays in this browser.

This is a browser spatial-memory practice task, not a medical assessment and not an intelligence test. The “chimp” name refers to the number-order memory format.
