How to play & what counts as Assisted
Keyboard-first play
Type normally, use arrows to move, Space to flip Across/Down, and Tab or Enter to jump clues.
Pencil without penalty
Pencil marks are tentative. Undo, Redo and Pencil do not turn a Clean solve into Assisted.
Check & Reveal
Check or Reveal is always available, but either marks that solve Assisted so Clean personal bests stay meaningful.
Exact local resume
Each Daily or Unlimited puzzle saves letters, pencil marks, direction, assistance state, elapsed time, plus Undo and Redo history locally. Active games reopen paused.
Two Daily lengths
Daily Mini is always 5×5. Daily Crossword is 7×7 on weekdays and 9×9 on weekends, with no source-grid repeats within a calendar year.
