Digit Span see it, hold it, recall it
Start in seconds with an adaptive Forward or Backward test. The game stays simple up front, while Daily, Practice, fixed Benchmark, exact trial review and the deeper evidence lab remain available when you want them.

Exact trial review
This is a browser memory game for self-comparison, not a clinical, IQ or population-norm score.

Quick Test setup
Correct answers add one digit. A miss retries the same span once; three misses end a Quick Test.
Practice setup
Fixed Benchmark
12 fixed scored trials: two each at spans 4–9, using the selected Forward or Backward order.

Game first
Quick Test starts at three digits and adapts immediately. No account, setup wizard or long explanation blocks the first attempt.
Forward and backward stay separate
Forward emphasizes short-term storage; Backward adds mental reordering. Local bests are stored separately instead of hiding both behind one score.
Depth stays optional
Daily, Practice, fixed Benchmark, exact review and the preserved Evidence Lab are available without crowding the core recall loop.

Serial-position accuracy
“Max exact” is simply the longest length recalled exactly at least once in this run. “Stable pair” means both fixed trials at that length were exact. Neither is an age norm, diagnosis, or IQ score.

Benchmark form
Each form: 2 warm-up + 24 scored = two Forward and two Backward trials at spans 4–9.

Comparability boundary
Benchmark is fixed visual presentation at 850 ms per digit + 150 ms gap and 400 ms recall delay. Focus loss flags the run. Browser/audio/device differences are why this product does not publish population percentiles.
Fixed, not staircase
Benchmark always gives the same span coverage within a selected A–E form. That makes repeat testing transparent instead of letting one early miss silently shorten the evidence.
Forward ≠ backward
Forward storage and backward manipulation are reported separately. A single combined “memory score” would hide that distinction.
Practice can be flexible
Practice can change mode, span, pace and delay. Those drills are deliberately separate from the fixed Benchmark evidence.

Recall Evidence Lab
Separate storage, manipulation, encoding-speed and delayed-recall conditions. Keep exact trial evidence locally, repeat frozen benchmarks, and reproduce custom setups without turning one span score into an IQ or diagnosis.
