Japanese Kana Recall Lab
Train hiragana and katakana with typed recall, speed, weak-item retirement and lookalike drills. Every result stays local; assistance and restored rounds are separated from Clean evidence.
Local history & Daily archive
Only Clean sessions feed the personal baseline. Daily Recall history is separate from Today’s 6.
Japanese Kana Practice

Choose the rows you want to practice. The session never adds characters outside this selection.

After accuracy is stable, use the existing 60-second Kana Sprint. Sprint remains a fluency record; it is not used to fake a mastery checkpoint.

Recognize or recall Japanese kana accurately. Base covers the standard 46 symbols, Marks adds voiced and semi-voiced kana, and Yōon adds small-ゃ/ゅ/ょ combinations. Hiragana and katakana can be practiced separately or together.
Fixed rounds score first-attempt accuracy. Recall gives one extra attempt before revealing an answer, while Weak Kana requires a correct response and retires a missed character after three correct review attempts. Local character history is a study aid, not an official proficiency level.
Canonical Hepburn-style readings are shown, while common input variants such as si/shi, ti/chi, tu/tsu and hu/fu are accepted. Rare ぢ/づ remain available in recall but are excluded from ambiguous reverse prompts.
