Sliding Puzzle plan the gap, beat your route
Restore the numbered grid by sliding through one empty space. Every board is generated through legal moves, so it is solvable; 3×3 can show the true minimum, while larger boards use verified routes without pretending they are optimal.
Solved
Nice solve.
Tap a tile in the gap’s row or column. Swipe a neighboring tile toward the gap, or use arrow/WASD keys.

Advanced solve lab & repeatability
Solve Quality & Repeatability Lab
Inspect what each move did, or repeat one fixed 4×4 benchmark. This is optional evidence tooling, kept below the core game.
Make a move in the main puzzle to see local move evidence.
Fixed Benchmark 4×4
Fixed board ready. Benchmark uses adjacent single-tile moves only.
0/5 fixed-benchmark solves recorded on this device.
Clean 5 compares only your own fixed-board runs on this device. No rank, percentile, IQ, or global norm is inferred.
How to solve & controls
Guaranteed solvable
Boards start solved and are scrambled through deterministic legal slides. Impossible parity states are never served.
Line-slide touch
Tap anywhere in the gap’s row or column to slide the whole run. Each tile shift counts as one move.
Hint honesty
On 3×3, Hint uses an exact shortest-path search from your current board. On 4×4 and 5×5, it follows a guaranteed verified route and does not claim optimality.
Swipe + keyboard
Swipe a neighboring tile toward the gap on touch screens. Arrow/WASD keys move one tile; H hints, Z undoes, P pauses and R restarts.
Daily board
The Daily board is date-stable and keeps local history outside the frozen Today’s 6 rotation.
