Xiangqi Chinese Chess
Play full browser-local Xiangqi, then train the exact decisions around it: a deterministic Daily Decision, 10-position Decision Sprint, Weak Decisions review, local move-rank evidence, FEN analysis, and the fixed rules benchmark. Local candidate rankings are disclosed heuristic search evidence — not professional engine truth.
Game record
Daily Decision & Decision Sprint
Read a legal Xiangqi position and choose among four locally ranked candidates. The reference answer is the top move from this site's disclosed one-ply Standard search — useful for repeatable training, but not a claim of professional-engine best play.
Blue = origin and green = destination after an answer. Positions are generated from deterministic legal local play, then verified before display.
Choose Daily Decision or Decision Sprint.

Recent local move-rank evidence
Play a move to record its local candidate rank and score gap.
Exact Rule & Move Evidence Lab
Every move you make is re-read from the exact local rule engine: piece family, capture, check, legal replies and a disclosed lightweight material/mobility heuristic delta. The heuristic is a local comparison aid, not a claim that a move is objectively best.
Play a move to build exact local rule evidence.
Completed-game review
Finish a local game and your own decision evidence will stay on this device.
Fixed Rules Benchmark · same 20 questions
Five exact-rule families × four questions: horse leg, cannon screen, river rules, palace/general and ending/safety. Clean 5 compares only five uninterrupted runs of the identical fixed set.
Choose Fixed Benchmark or Adaptive Drill.
Ready for a fixed or adaptive rule run.
FEN interoperability & reproducible setup
Copy the current board as Xiangqi FEN, load a FEN locally, or copy a setup link. Imported/shared positions are marked Assisted so normal clean-game records remain honest.
Local evidence backup & accessibility
Export/import only this browser’s Xiangqi stats and V0.203 evidence. Display preferences do not alter rules or benchmark identity.
Keep the general inside the palace
The general moves one orthogonal step within the 3×3 palace. The two generals may never face each other on an open file; an unobstructed general can also capture the opposing general directly along that file.
Move freely, capture over one screen
A cannon moves like a chariot through empty intersections. To capture, it must jump exactly one occupied screen and land on the first enemy piece beyond it.
Blocks matter
A horse cannot jump when its adjacent leg point is occupied. An elephant moves two diagonal points, cannot jump its eye, and may not cross the river.
Crossing the river adds sideways pressure
Soldiers move one point forward. After crossing the river they may also move one point sideways, but never backward.
Checkmate and stalemate both win
In Xiangqi, a player with no legal move loses even if the general is not currently in check. For endless local loops, this browser practice uses an explicit identical-position threefold draw.
No account or invented rating
Hints, Undo and Restart mark the game Assisted. Stats and Daily history stay in this browser. There is no global Elo, wager, chips, prizes or paid-random mechanic.
