Mental Math Speed Test
Test how many mental-arithmetic problems you can solve accurately in one minute. The Sprint uses the real Mental Math Practice engine, tracks correct answers, attempts, accuracy, correct answers per minute and your best streak, and saves a personal best only on this device.
Start a 60-second Mental Math Sprint
The timer runs continuously for 60 seconds. Every submitted answer counts as an attempt, so random guessing can lower accuracy even if it increases raw attempts. Missed problems also enter the local Weak Facts queue for targeted review later.
How the 60-second test works
The Sprint is different from the normal ten-question round. Instead of stopping after question ten, it keeps generating arithmetic until the clock reaches zero. The default Standard mixed set rotates through addition, subtraction, multiplication and exact division. You can switch to Easy or Hard, change the timer to 30 or 120 seconds, or focus on one operation after opening the game.
- Answer as many questions as you can before time expires.
- Correct, attempted, accuracy, correct-per-minute pace and best streak are reported separately.
- The timer is fixed; an unanswered problem at the buzzer is not counted as an attempt.
Scoring is visible, not a percentile claim
The game does not invent a global rank or pretend to know how your score compares with other people. Its 1,000-point Sprint score is a local game score: 70% comes from answer accuracy and up to 30% comes from pace, with the pace component capped once you reach 30 correct answers per minute. The raw numbers remain visible so you can judge improvement without relying on the combined score.
- Accuracy is the largest part of the score.
- Pace cannot compensate for unlimited incorrect guesses.
- Personal bests are saved per timer, difficulty, skill and selected multiplication table.
Turn misses into focused review
A speed test is more useful when mistakes lead somewhere. Any arithmetic problem you miss is stored locally in Weak Facts. That queue contains the exact expressions you missed rather than a guessed skill label or an opaque memory percentage. In Weak Facts review, one correct answer advances that problem by one step; three correct review attempts in a row retire it, while another miss resets its review streak.
- Only actual misses enter Weak Facts.
- Three consecutive correct review attempts retire an item.
- Everything stays in local browser storage; no account or server profile is required.
What kinds of arithmetic appear
Mixed Standard Sprint questions draw from the same tested generator as regular Mental Math Practice. Expect two-number addition and subtraction, multiplication, and exact whole-number division. Focused modes also support percentages, squares and individual multiplication tables from 2 through 12, so the same timer can be reused for a narrower drill.
- Use Mixed for broad speed practice.
- Use an operation filter when one skill needs more repetitions.
- Use 30 seconds for a quick check or 120 seconds for a longer endurance round.
Keep going
The focused page is an entry point into the same Mental Math engine, not a separate thin copy. After a Sprint you can switch to ten-question Practice, narrow the operation, or review only facts that you actually missed.
