Word Search Maker
Create a custom word search from your own vocabulary, spelling list, names or themed words. The puzzle is generated in your browser, can be solved online with touch or keyboard controls, printed with an optional answer key, and shared through an exact layout link.
Create your puzzle
The maker is not a renamed theme landing. It accepts your own words and phrases, validates the list, places every accepted target once in a deterministic grid, and gives you a real play/print workspace. Easy, Medium and Hard use different direction rules rather than cosmetic labels.
What you can customize
Start with three to twenty-four unique words or phrases. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes can stay in the label you enter; the letter grid uses the A–Z letters from that label. Choose a 10, 12, 15, 18 or 20 letter square and select a direction profile. Easy keeps words moving right or down. Medium adds forward diagonals. Hard allows all eight directions, including backwards placement. A layout seed makes the result reproducible, while New layout gives the same content a different arrangement.
The generator deliberately reports a problem instead of hiding it. If a word is longer than the chosen grid, the maker says so. If two targets contain one another after spaces and punctuation are removed, it asks you to edit one because otherwise a shorter target would have more than one legitimate location inside the final puzzle. This is stricter than silently producing an ambiguous worksheet and is especially useful when the puzzle is meant for students or a group.
Play online before you print
Once generated, the same puzzle can be solved directly in the browser. Drag from the first to last letter with touch or a mouse, or use keyboard focus to choose the two endpoints. Found words are crossed off the list and highlighted in the grid. Reset solve clears only your solving progress; it does not alter the layout, so you can test a worksheet and then return it to a clean state.
Show answer key highlights the intended paths. Print / Save PDF uses the browser's print system and removes the editor controls, navigation and status messages from the printed page. That means you can print the puzzle, turn on the answer key and print the solution separately without needing an account, uploaded document or paid export service.
Share the exact same puzzle
Copy exact link keeps the title, word list, grid size, difficulty and layout seed in the URL. Someone opening that link receives the same deterministic puzzle rather than a newly randomized board. The list is processed locally; DailyBrainArc does not need a backend or database to generate the grid. The tradeoff is transparent: if you intentionally copy a share link, the words you chose are contained in that URL, so do not put private information in a link you plan to send around.
Curated game or custom maker?
Use the regular Word Search game when you want fast play from DailyBrainArc's thirty-seven curated themes and five game difficulty profiles. It tracks Practice clears and clean best times separately from Today's 6. Use the maker when the content itself is the point: spelling review, classroom vocabulary, party names, a family topic, a club list or any other word set that you supply yourself. These are different user outcomes, which is why the maker has a dedicated functional surface instead of dozens of near-duplicate SEO pages.
