Americas Flags Quiz

Identify country flags across the combined 35-country North and South America study pool. The flag round uses the same 195-country core as the world map, so the visual-recognition bank is no longer limited to the earlier partial subset.

How the flag drill works

The combined Americas pool keeps North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America together for learners who prefer the traditional broad regional grouping.

Each question shows an unlabeled Unicode country flag and asks you to choose the matching country. The screen-reader prompt does not include the country name, so the accessible label does not leak the answer. The active Americas pool contains 35 countries.

Why regional distractors are harder

Distractors are selected from the same study region first when enough alternatives exist. That matters because many flags share common colors, stripe layouts, stars or emblems. A learner therefore has to notice the visual detail instead of ruling out three obviously unrelated countries.

One country core across map, capitals and flags

The V0.31 Geography bank uses the same stable country codes for map targets and flag generation. That alignment prevents a country from existing in one geography activity but silently disappearing from another. It also makes North America and South America available as real separate pools while preserving the older combined Americas route.

Practice stays separate from the Daily score

Flag drills are unlimited Practice and do not change Today's 6 total. Replay creates a fresh seeded order, so the same region can be repeated without forcing the identical first ten flags every time.

Suggested study loop

Use Mastery 10 for a first pass. If the pool feels comfortable, finish the complete region. For the global set, Deep 30 is a useful intermediate step before attempting all 195 flags in one sitting.

What full coverage means here

The pool count is taken directly from the configured country inventory rather than from a vague “world flags” label. In a full-pool session each configured country in the selected region can appear once, while Quick, Mastery and Deep modes use seeded subsets. This makes it possible to distinguish a short recognition check from a deliberate attempt to cover the entire regional flag set.

Switching between location, capital and flag recall uses different retrieval cues for the same geography knowledge. Related challenges below stay inside the real tested game engine rather than sending you to a static answer sheet.
