World Countries Map Quiz
Build world-country location recall by reading a country prompt and clicking that country directly on an interactive map. Start short, go deeper, or work through the complete 195-country core.
Start the World Countries Map Quiz
The Geography engine chooses countries from the selected world pool and makes the map itself the answer surface. You get up to three attempts for each target, immediate feedback after a miss, and a reveal if the location still is not found after the third try.
Learn locations, not just names
Knowing that a country exists is different from knowing where it is. This drill removes text answer choices and asks you to connect the written country name to a spatial location. A correct first click is therefore a direct test of location recall, while a later hit shows that the prompt became easier after feedback.
Transparent attempt scoring
A first-try answer receives full credit, a second-try hit receives partial credit, a third-try hit receives less, and a target revealed after three misses receives no location credit. The completion view also reports first-try finds, total misses and elapsed time so the score does not hide how the round was completed.
Quick, deep or complete rounds
Quick 10 is useful for a short session. Deep 30 exposes you to more of the map. All 195 covers the complete configured country core once without repeating already selected targets. The full mode is intentionally long because it is a coverage challenge rather than a five-question sample disguised as world mastery.
Zoom and small-country hit areas
A world map contains microstates and small island countries that are difficult to select at ordinary scale, especially on a phone. The game includes zoom controls and practical helper hit areas for tiny targets while keeping each helper tied to the same underlying country code. Those helpers improve usability without turning the answer into a text label.
Regional practice uses the same engine
Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania are available as filters. Countries outside the chosen region are visually de-emphasized and are not used as prompts. This lets you build a region first and then return to the full world map without learning a separate interface.
Switch from prompted recall to free recall
Once map clicking feels comfortable, the Countries of the World Quiz reverses the task: the map starts mostly empty and you must type country names yourself. Using both modes distinguishes “I can find this country when named” from “I can produce the country name without a prompt.”
