Expert Sudoku Online

Move beyond the existing Hard pool with a denser 24-clue Expert set selected from uniquely solvable generated candidates and verified again by an independent solver. The same browser board keeps Notes, Undo, candidate tools and optional coaching available without changing the puzzle itself.

Start Expert Sudoku

This entry opens only the Expert Practice pool. Each of the 40 fixtures has 24 starting clues, exactly one solution, and an independently measured solver search workload used during bank selection. The difficulty label is backed by a genuinely sparser pool rather than a renamed Hard URL.

What makes this Expert pool different

V0.28 adds a fourth Sudoku difficulty instead of stretching the old Hard label. The Expert fixtures begin with 24 clues, compared with 27 for Hard, 32 for Medium and 38 for Easy. Every grid was generated locally, checked for one and only one solution, and stored with its verified final board. Search effort from the independent MRV solver is also recorded so the new Expert candidates were not chosen by clue count alone.

Use assistance only when you want it

The board does not force a tutorial over the puzzle. Notes mode lets you maintain candidates manually, Auto Notes fills only legal candidates, and Technique Coach looks for supported logical moves without inserting the value for you. Hint is intentionally stronger: it fills one verified value and carries a larger score cost. Undo, Erase, Reset and keyboard navigation stay available on the same board.

Why the pool matters

A polished Sudoku interface is not enough if Practice repeats the same few grids. Expanding to 40 independently verified Expert fixtures makes replay meaningfully less repetitive while keeping the site entirely client-side. Fresh puzzle changes the Practice seed and deterministically selects another fixture from the pool, so no paid puzzle API, account or server is required.

How scoring stays transparent

The score still rewards a correct completion first. Time only begins reducing the score after a generous baseline, while hints and Technique Coach uses have explicit deductions. The difficulty name does not secretly change the answer checker or inject random penalties. A solved board must exactly match the stored unique solution.

Print or solve on screen

The same Expert fixture can be printed from the built-in Print puzzle control. The print stylesheet removes navigation, buttons, timer feedback, notes and any non-given entries, leaving the original clue grid on paper. That makes the printable workflow a property of the real game instead of a disconnected PDF bank.
