Daily Five-Letter Word
One five-letter answer stays fixed for the current local date. Solve it in six guesses, turn on Hard mode if you want stricter clue reuse, and share the finished tile pattern without revealing the word.
Start today's five-letter word
This opens the standalone date-stable Practice workflow. It does not add a seventh game to Today's 6 and it does not overwrite the rotating Daily Word result when Word happens to appear in the main six-game lineup.
A separate daily ritual, not a duplicate Daily Score game
DailyBrainArc already has a short Today's 6 routine. The word pillar rotates between Word, Anagram and Word Search so the main set does not become repetitive. This page serves a different intent: if you specifically want a five-letter guessing puzzle every day, the standalone Daily Five-Letter Word gives you one without changing the six-game lineup.
The answer is selected deterministically from the same 299 curated answer bank using the local calendar date. Opening the mode again on the same date produces the same answer; a new local date produces a new date seed. The game remains entirely client-side, with no paid puzzle feed, account or server-generated answer required.
Six valid guesses with duplicate-letter-safe feedback
Every submitted guess must exist in the 8,636-word validation lexicon. That validation list is intentionally larger than the answer bank, because a fair deduction game should accept normal exploratory words even when those words are not eligible solutions. Invalid strings do not consume one of the six turns.
After a valid guess, exact-position matches are marked first. Remaining letters are then matched against unused answer letters, which prevents repeated letters from receiving more positive feedback than the hidden word actually contains. The virtual keyboard retains the strongest state each letter has earned so earlier information stays visible while you reason through later guesses.
Optional Hard mode
Hard mode changes the allowed next guesses rather than making the word itself obscure. Any exact-position letter revealed by earlier guesses must stay in that position. Letters already confirmed somewhere in the answer must continue to appear in sufficient quantity. If a guess violates those constraints, the game explains the first violated rule and does not spend a turn.
Accessible controls and readable feedback
You can play from a physical keyboard or the on-screen touch keyboard. Enter submits, Backspace removes the most recent letter, and the hidden text input keeps mobile typing practical. High-contrast mode swaps the standard positive clue colors for a more distinct blue/orange pair while preserving the same hit/near meaning.
Share without spoiling the word
After the result, Share result produces a compact grid of colored-square symbols plus the number of guesses and Hard-mode status. The answer itself is deliberately omitted. That means friends can compare results for the date without receiving the solution in the message. Devices with a native share sheet can use it directly; otherwise the text can be copied.
Unlimited mode when one puzzle is not enough
The date-stable puzzle intentionally does not show Fresh word, because Fresh would destroy the point of a shared daily answer. After completion, Unlimited Practice is one click away. Unlimited mode adds Mixed, Easy, Standard and Hard answer pools, fresh local seeds, Give up, and browser-only played/win/streak/guess-distribution stats.
What this page does not claim
This is an independent DailyBrainArc word game. It is not the New York Times Wordle and does not use its answer schedule. Local stats describe only your rounds on this device; they are not global percentiles or comparisons against other players.
Try a different five-letter challenge
Word Ladder shows both endpoints and asks you to build the path instead of guessing a hidden answer.
